The King

Jesus is presenting himself as King (Messiah) for several reasons – Zechariah 9:9.
- To fulfill prophecy showing him to be the promised Messiah. Zechariah 9:9.
- To encourage the disciples . Luke 19:37.
- To force the hand of the opposition. Luke 19:39-40. See also Matthew 26:3-5; John 1:29, 7:30, 8:20, 13:1, 17:1; 1 Corinthians 5:7.

The rejection of the King is
- The rejection of peace itself. See Luke 19:38, 19:42, 2:14;
- The reason for the present struggle between good and evil on earth. See Luke 12:49-53, 19:42, 21:20-24; Romans 11:25-27.
Encouragements
- What is your place in the crowd? Do you know what is going on? Do you know who this is? Will you be in His kingdom when it fully comes?
- Worship the King!
