Opposing God…

Is Constant

• Opposition to the gospel is predicted by Jesus. John 15:18-21, 16:33; Matt. 10:22; 24:9; Acts 5:41; 1 Pet. 4:14, 16.
• Opposition to the gospel is displayed all through time. Romans 8:36; Luke 13:34; Acts 7:52.
• Opposition to the gospel is spiritual. Ephesians 6:12-13; 2 Corinthians 10:4; Colossians 1:13-14; 2 Corinthians 4:4.
• Opposition to the gospel is global. Ephesians 2:1-3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; John 12:31, 14:30, 16:11.

Is Irrational

• Acts 5:17, 7:9, 13:45, 17:5. Contrast Acts 2:47, 5:13. See also James 3:14, 16.

Is Futile

Encouragements

• Stop opposing God.
• Jesus Christ is always building His church. Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 1:18-25; 2 Corinthians 4:7-12; Romans 10:9-17.
• Pray for boldness. Acts 4:29.
• Stay there until they throw you out.
